What is pouring concrete dry?

Pouring concrete dry refers to the process of placing and spreading concrete mix without adding any water to it. This is done in situations where the concrete needs to set quickly or when the concrete is being poured in a location where water is not readily available.

When pouring concrete dry, all the dry ingredients (cement, sand, and aggregate) are purchased and mixed together in the correct proportions. These proportions are important because they dictate the strength and consistency of the final product. Water is not added to the mixture until it reaches the construction site.

Once the dry mix has been transported to the site, water is added through a specialized spray nozzle that can uniformly spray the correct amount of water onto the mix. The mix is then worked with trowels until it reaches the desired consistency and can be poured into the designated area.

It is important to note that pouring concrete dry requires expertise and special equipment to ensure that the mix is properly mixed and that the amount of water added is controlled and consistent. Improperly mixed concrete can lead to cracks, weak spots, and other issues that can affect the durability of the finished product.
